Educational Qualification:-

Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government, as on 30 September 2026. Final-year or final-semester students can also apply provisionally, but they must produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 30 September 2026 if shortlisted for interview. Candidates holding professional qualifications such as Medical, Engineering, Chartered Accountancy, or Cost Accountancy, as well as those with an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) passed by the cut-off date, are also eligible.

Pre-Examination Training:-

  • State Bank of India will arrange pre-examination training (PET) in online mode for Sc/St/OBC/Pwd candidates in consonance with the guidelines issued by Government of India. All eligible candidates who opt for and wish to avail of Pre-Examination Training (PET) should fill in the relevant column in the Online Application Candidates opting for Pre-Examination Training should login for training from State Bank of India Bank’s website by entering their registration number and date of birth. Intimation regarding schedule of Pre-Examination Training will be shared with the candidates through their registered Email Id and SMS. No hard copies will be sent.

Prelims & Main Examination Centre Details(Karnataka):-

Preliminary Exam Centers:-

  • Belagavi (Belgaum), Bengaluru, Dharwad / Hubbali, Mangaluru (Mangalore), Mysuru (Mysore), Shivamogga (Shimoga), Udupi

Selection Procedure:-

The selection for Probationary Officers will be done through a three-Phase process

  • Phase-I: Preliminary Examination
  • Phase-II: Main Examination
  • Selection Criteria For Phase-III:-
    • (A) Sectional Cut Off In Main Examination:- Each Candidate Will Have To Score A Minimum Qualifying Score In Each Test / Section (I.E. Test I, II, III, IV & Descriptive Paper, Individually). Depending Upon The Number Of Vacancies, Sectional Cut Offs Will Be Decided By The Bank.
    • (B) Minimum Aggregate Qualifying Score:-Category wise merit list will be drawn on the basis of the aggregate marks scored in Main Examination. Candidates numbering up to 3 times (approx.) of the category wise vacancies will be shortlisted for Phase-III from the top of the category wise merit list subject to a candidate scoring the minimum aggregate qualifying score in Main exam, as decided by the Bank.
  • Phase-III:-Comprise Of Psychometric Test, Group Exercise & Personal Interview Psychometric Test: The Bank Will Conduct Psychometric Test For Personality Profiling, Of Those Candidates Who Will Be Shortlisted For Phase-III Process. Findings Of The Test Will Be Placed Before The Interview Panel To Have A Thorough Perspective On The Candidates. Psychometric Tests May Be Conducted Through Proctored Mode Or At Identified Examination Centers, As Decided By The Bank. All The Questions In Psychometric Test Are Mandatory For Candidates To Assess The Candidates’ Profiling.

  • Final Selection:- The candidates will have to qualify both in Phase-II and Phase-III separately. The marks obtained in Main Examination (Phase-II), both in the Objective Test and the Descriptive Test will be added to the marks obtained in Phase-III for preparing the final merit list.
